The youngest star in Bob’s universe was great-granddaughter, Olivia Thompson, daughter of James and Paige.

Bob and Gloria traveled by train from Toronto to Vancouver, from Boston to Washington, DC and recently took the train from Williams, Arizona to the Grand Canyon with family. Bob also took the train from Boston to Florida to join Gloria and family for a vacation. Bob intensely disliked flying when a train ride could get him to the same destination.
Teaching mathematics and mathematics education was his life-long passion. He taught in the Portland and Lawrence school systems. He co-taught math education for the University of Maine at Farmington and built his own consulting business, working with school systems across the state.
