Raymond was born in St Côme, Quebec, Canada on September 17, 1929, to Eugene and Gracia (Fortin) Morin. He married Raymonde “Monette” Paquet on July 14, 1956, and they moved to Skowhegan shortly after the birth of their first son in 1957.
Raymond spent all his working life in the logging industry. He worked for many years alongside his brothers, Joe and Rene, maintaining heavy equipment and ultimately supervising logging operations in the Western Maine woods for the William Philbrick Co. and later for Timberlands, Inc. until he retired in 1995. After the passing of Monette in July 1996, Raymond later married Earlene (Gagnon) Morin.
Raymond was a member of the Knights of Columbus and actively supported Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Skowhegan for many years.
Raymond is predeceased by his brothers, Joe and Germain, and sister Normande Poulin. He is survived by his wife Earlene of Skowhegan; his three sons, Daniel and wife Cindy of New Harbor, Michael and wife Penny of Farmington, NH, and Louis of Skowhegan; three grandchildren, Kayla Morin-Riordan and Alex Morin of Farmington, NH, and Rachel Morin of Ft Myers, FL; one great grandson Bennett Morin-Riordan; his brothers Andre of Longueuil, Quebec and Rene of St Georges, Quebec; Earlene’s daughters Michelle Shamon and Angela Cady; several sisters-in-law; and many nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 273 Water St., Skowhegan, followed by a burial at Calvary Cemetery, North Ave., Skowhegan.
