Lucille B. Clark Smith of Jacksonville, NC, formerly of Skowhegan, Maine, passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born in Hartland, Maine on September 17, 1944 to the parents of Barbara Tuttle and the late Arthur E. Clark of Canaan.
She is survived by: her mother Barbara Clark, her husband of 47 years, James L. Smith, her son, Randy L. Smith and his wife Dawn of North Carolina, her daughter Cindy Lou and her husband Timothy Booker of Skowhegan, grandchildren: James L. Smith and his wife Chrystal of North Carolina, Natasha Witham of and Ashley Booker of Skowhegan, Logan Smith of North Carolina, and Amy Booker of Skowhegan, great-grandchildren: Mickey Rivers and Elizabeth Rose Smith of North Carolina, brother Richard A. Clark and his wife Pam, sisters Raejean Herrin and her husband Robert, and Kathy Quirion and her husband Rodney all of Canaan, step-brother Hal Clark and his wife Mary of Portsmouth, NH, and step-sister Sue Clark Norris of Palmyra, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends Madeline and Charlie Corson of Skowhegan, and Sandra and Richard Wade of Albion.
She was predeceased by father Arthur E. Clark, Step-Father Albin Clark, grandson Daniel Ryan Smith, son of Randy Smith and Terri Cyr and niece Monica Clark.
Lucille enjoyed writing letters to her family and friends. She loved flower gardening and enjoyed drinking tea. She left foot prints on our hearts and will be greatly missed by all who crossed her path.
Lucille now walks the streets of gold. God called her home early Sunday morning….she no longer struggles for the breath of life. She will be missed by her family and friends. While we may weep for our loss, we are comforted by our belief that she is right where God needs her to be. Lucille, you touched the hearts of many and we are forever better for you having done so. A graveside service will be held on Saturday October 22, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Canaan, with Pastor Kevin Brooks officiating. A gathering will follow the service at the Canaan Calvary Church in Canaan for fellowship and refreshments.
Special thanks to hospice, both in North Carolina and Maine, your services provided in our time of need were unrivaled and greatly appreciated.
