She was born January 6, 1952 in New London, CT, the daughter of David C. and Bernice L. (Southworth) Dunlap.
Dawn graduated from Fitch Senior High School in Groton, CT, in the class of 1969.
She married John A. Poplawski Jr., on June 28, 1985 in Groton, CT.
She waitressed at Irving Truck Stop Restaurant in Fairfield for 15 years, she currently worked at Mei Lee Garden Restaurant in Skowhegan.
Dawn enjoyed knitting, crafts, reading books, doing crosswords and cryptograms. She especially loved the time she spent with her family.
Besides her husband John of 26 years of Canaan; her two children; Matteo Casiano of Canterbury, CT, Elizabeth Milcendeau and her husband Jason of Canaan, two brothers; David Dunlap and his wife Carol of Canaan, Timothy Dunlap and his wife Heidi of China, one sister; Judith Tremblay and her husband Robert of Canaan, two grandchildren; Alexander and Aaleyah, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday December 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Canaan Calvary Church, Main Street, Canaan, Maine, with the Rev. Kevin Brooks Officiating.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
