On Monday, Dec 15, 2014 of Silver Spring, MD, beloved husband of Sophie Miskiewicz Peters for 13 years. Karl was born in Poland, took part in the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 and was taken as forced laborer to NAZI Germany. After escaping from prisoner camp, he was picked up by the 181st Airborne and served for 11 months with the US Army in Germany and France. After discharge he returned to Poland to join his parents and 3 sisters. He immigrated to the US in 1966 and worked as Electronics Engineer for a contractor to NASA. He was especially proud that he worked on the Apollo space program. He lived in Queens, NY supporting his wife and 4 children in Warsaw. In 1996 he moved to Silver Spring, MD. Karl is survived by Sophie, sister Olga Wolski (Warsaw), daughter Eva J. Peters (New York) and 3 grown children in Warsaw: Maximilian Peters, Joanna Peters, Ditta Peters Czapla, and grandsons Jan and Antoni Czapla. Friends may call at the Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 2 pm.
