Erin Krystal Kim

Erin K. Kim, age 56, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21st, 2017, at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Columbia, MD. Erin was born December 25, 1960, in Incheon, Korea to Thomas and Sandy Yun. She was a 1979 graduate of Northwestern High School. She married James Kim on December 14, 1985 in Washington D.C. Erin had been a caretaker her entire life. She had a knack for making extraordinary acts of love seem mundane simply because selfless was who she was. Outside of Erin’s Christian faith, her greatest investment has always been her family and friends. She truly adopted the “Third is Me” philosophy; first comes God, second comes others, and third is me. Her children described her as “The G.O.A.T”, an acronym which stands for, The Greatest Of All Time; a testament to her steadfastness. Despite her unending list of errands and people to love, she would profess that her greatest joys have come from the gift of giving. Erin is survived by her husband, James, and her children, Andrew, Shannon, and Faith. Family, friends, and others whose lives have been touched by Erin are invited to Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20904, from 5:30pm-7:30pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, to celebrate the life of Erin.
