He was born on October 20, 1947 in Matthews, MO to the late Lowell “Bud” and Evelyn Stucker Huls.
On December 1, 1978 in Sikeston he married Jackie Alford Huls who survives of the home in Sikeston, MO.
Ricky retired from the Army National Guard in 2007 and then retired from Missouri Delta Medical Center in 2009, after thirty-eight years as a physician assistant and orthopedic technician. He was SFC E7 First Air Cavalry Division 15th Medical Battalion in Vietnam with forty years of service.
He has been a member of Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, MO for over fifteen years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Austin Huls of Dallas, TX.; one step son, Paul (Angela) Shelby of Sikeston, MO; two sisters, Beverly Wright of Sikeston, MO and Vicky Bailey of Matthews, MO and two grandchildren, Jacob Johnson and Cadence Shelby.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO with Georg Karl, Pastor of Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, MO, officiating.
A private family interment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
Pallbearers will be Brian Lewis, Jerrod Lewis, Paul Shelby, Austin Huls, Allen Hollis and Robbie Bailey.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Fred Thornton, Dr. Loring Helfrich, Dr. Ly Phan and Dr. Kevin Rankin.
