Melba Pack Smith

She was born on May 8, 1939, in Karnak, TX to the late Alvis and Mae Lewis Pack.

On June 20, 1989, in Benton, MO she married Donnie Smith who preceded her in death on December 10, 2013.

She was of the Methodist faith and she loved gardening, flowers, enjoying her birds, reading and visiting with friends.

She is survived by sister, Joyce Arnold of Berthoud, Colorado; son, Kyle Bess of Los Angeles, Ca, grandkids, Cory (Victoria) Bess of Sikeston; grandson, Alex Bess of Ocala, Fl, grandson, Davin Savat of Parsons, TN; great grandkids, Lexie, Lawson and Lane Bess of Sikeston, MO; special niece, Ann Lowery of Marshall, TX and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Bess; sister, Ruby Lampkins, sister, Faye Simpson, sister, Myrtle Bison, sister, Merle Cochran; brother, Tommy Pack, brother, Bill Pack; sister, Nora Lee Pointer and brother, Fred Pack.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, form 12 noon until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO with her nephew Ray Pack of Jackson, TN, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, MO.

Pallbearers will be James Barclay, Tom Arnold, Cory Bess, Alex Bess, Grant Ash and Danny Birdwell.
