He was born on September 2, 1960, to A.C. and Doris McCanless Adams who survives of the home.
Other survivors include, his loving wife, Jerri Linda Helmes Adams of Sikeston, MO; one step-son, Tyler White and Chandre’ Francis of Sikeston, MO; one sister, Lauri Noles and Tim Schutter of Wheatland, IN; two nieces, Chelsie Noles and Clayton Flowers, Tessa Noles and Hunter Dillender, all of Dexter, MO; four great nieces and nephews, Leighton and Nolen Flowers, Adler and Evie Dillender; two very loved honorary nieces, Taylor and Bella Brister of Sikeston, MO and Kelcie Hoyland Zuniga, Zoe Hoyland and Steve “3’ Hoyland of Texas.
He was a stranger to none, “Jabbo”, was loved by all and the life of the party, whether on stage playing his mandolin or making his rounds. You couldn’t miss his contagious laugh or McCanless smile. It didn’t matter if you knew him five minutes or five years, he left you feeling as though you were lifelong friends, never forgetting a face or name.
He was a natural musician and could play anything by ear. He lives on through us with many cherished memories of his music, and in the words of a favorite song “The road goes on forever and the party never ends”.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12:00 noon at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 128 N. 5th St., Sikeston, MO 63801 with a meal to follow.
