He was born on August 12, 1945 in East Prairie, MO. to the late J.C. and Hettie Douglas Rogers.
Jackie graduated from Matthews High School in 1963. He was a veteran of the United States Army, he served in Vietnam. He was an officer and a member of the American Legion Post 595 in New Madrid, MO. and the American Legion Post 114 in Sikeston, MO.; he was also a member of the New Madrid Eagles and the Sikeston Eagles. He retired from International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 513 in 2007 after thirty-eight years of service.
Survivors include one daughter, Kim Rogers of Sikeston, MO.; one son, Darren (Leslie) Eby of Jackson, MO.; one sister, Brenda Rueve of New Madrid, MO.; two grandchildren, Augustus Eby of Sikeston, MO. and Bryan Rogers of Oak Park, MI.; one niece, Angela Mays of New Madrid, MO.; one nephew, Corey Hamra of Matthews, MO. and two great-nephews, Nick White of New Madrid, MO. and Austin (Allison) White of Campbell, MO.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Jane Ellen Silman.
A private interment will be held on Monday, September, 26, 2022 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
