Carolyn Sue Altom passed away on November 25, 2024. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Sikeston MO, surrounded by family and close friends. She was born on January 16,1948, to the young couple, Jack Pigg and Estell Stewart in New Madrid MO. They began right away to create a family that grew in size with the addition of seven siblings Jackie Ray Pigg, Larry Joe Pigg, Paul Raymond Pigg, Harry Lee Kenneth Pigg, Leonard Owen Pigg, and her adored sister Clara Mae Pigg Toler.
She met the love of her life when she met Wallis Altom. They married on August 11, 1990, in Kirkwood Missouri.
She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Missouri Delta Hospital and many of the surrounding nursing homes. She also worked for more than 18 years as a private care provider to her retirement in 2001. She was known for her outgoing personality and big heart. She loved life enjoying her traditional weekend yard sales looking for those early bird deals.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her children’s father, Larry Daniel Williams, siblings Jackie, Larry, Paul, Harry and Clara Pigg, daughter Paula Miller and her late husband Wallis Franklin Altom. She is survived by her children Daniel Lynn Williams and Teresa Gail Miller. She also leaves behind grandchildren Candace Mullin, Casey Williams, Kyle Miller, Shelby Miller and her Great Grandchildren Dominic Mullin, Eddie Foster, McKenzie Mullin, Auburn Mullin, Autumn Mullin and Holt Mullin, along with brothers Leonard Pigg and Donnie Stewart.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, M0 with Bro. Billy Davis, officiating.
Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
