She was born on May 28, 1933, in Tanner, MO., to the late Jackson Lewis and Minnie Mae Simpson Powers.
On December 11, 1953, in Crowder, MO., she married Raymond Lancaster, who survives of the home. They just celebrated 68 years of marriage.
She was a homemaker and volunteered as a room mother at Scott County Central School, made treats for vacation bible school, and was best known for her chocolate chips cookies.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Melvin “Buzz” Lancaster of Bell City, MO. and Richard Lee “Noop” Lancaster of Benton, MO.; six daughters, Teressa Anne (Mike) Carmody of Cape Girardeau, MO., Judy Kay (Tim) Clark of Bell City, MO., Avis Jeanne Lancaster of Bell City, MO., Glenda Faye Adams of Dorena, MO., Peggy Sue (Rob) Huston of St. Louis, MO., and Brenda Gail Lancaster of Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Albert “Bones” Lancaster; two brothers, Warren Powers and Jackie Darrel Powers, and one sister, Beulah Hall.
The family has chosen to have a private service on Sunday December the 19, 2021 at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO. with Bro. Eric Lee Lancaster, officiating.
A private interment will follow at the New Morley Cemetery in Morley, MO.
Pallbearers will be Rob Huston, Tim Clark, JT Robey, Dakota Sanders, JP Zeigler, and Dustin Anschultz.
Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Bertrand, Zachary Adams, and Steven Lancaster.
