Graveside services celebrating the life of Tommy Edward Pharr, 62, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Shaun Armstrong. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Tommy was born on June 11, 1949 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on October 15, 2011 in Bossier City, LA. He served as Vice President of Pharr Brothers Construction, Inc. Mr. Pharr was dedicated and devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible. He especially loved his grandchildren, Landry, Cade and Tatum. Tommy enjoyed working, cooking, being on the lake, golfing, operating heavy equipment and being outdoors. He constructed numerous BMX tracks for racing and received many awards for his work. Mr. Pharr will be remembered for his “King Sized” heart and how he helped anyone who was in need. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Tommy was one of a kind and the world is a smaller place without him.
Mr. Pharr is preceded in death by his parents Ted and Joyce Pharr.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Tommy are his children, Jason Pharr and wife Melissa and Holly Waites and husband David; one sister, Sherry Horton and husband Rocky; grandchildren, Landry Pharr, Cade Waites and Tatum Waites; nephew, Cody Horton; niece, Jennifer Horton and great nephew, Cooper Horton. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Tommy touched many lives and helped those in need and will always be remembered for the kindness and love that he shared with others.
