Tom Harold Wilcox, age 74, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Tom was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to George and Gaye Wilcox. He dedicated 32 and a half years of his life as a Nursing Assistant at the V.A. Hospital, where his compassionate care touched the lives of many.
In addition to his service at the hospital, Tom had a passion for collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and was an avid Titanic enthusiast. His fascination with history and culture enriched his life and those around him. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in his collection and the stories it held. Tom also had a special affection for elephants and found to be his favorite animal of all. He also had a deep love for animals, particularly cats and dogs, whose companionship brought him endless happiness.
Above all, Tom was a devoted follower of his Lord and a cherished family man. His faith guided him in both his personal and professional life, and his love knew no bounds. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, empathy, and selflessness.
Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years, Robin Wilcox; his daughter Autumn Grace Wilcox; his son Collin Raymond Wilcox; and his son-in-law Jeremy Alan Ward; his sister-in-law Melissa Wilcox, his brother-in-law and best friend Raymond B. Witham (Marian), his brother-in-laws Michael L Witham and Randall J Witham; his aunt Jean Redding Bass; 4 Nieces, 6 Nephews, 5 Great Nieces, 7 Great Nephews, 2 Great-Grand Nieces, 5 Great-Grand Nephews, Numerous Cousins and Friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his son Chase Thomas Wilcox; his parents George C. Wilcox Sr. (Gaye Davis Wilcox); his brother George C. Wilcox Jr. ( CLIF).
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may be gone, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A visitation for Tom will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM.
Tom will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park.
