Thomas Earl Tarver was born on September 5, 1941 and was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Tom graduated from Fair Park High School and worked as a welder at GE for over 40 years. He proudly served his country as a helicopter mechanic in the Army. During his time enlisted, he received the good conduct medal and became a M-14 rifle expert. Tom loved riding his zero turn, hunting, fishing, and watching the races with his loving late wife, Barbara. In much of his spare time, you could catch him working with his hands - he could recreate just about anything out of copper and silver solder. His days were spent loving and spoiling his babies – ShadowBoy and BellaGirl. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his work ethic, his creativity, and his muscadine wine.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Shelton Tarver; father, Thomas Ira Tarver; mother, Murrell Davis Tarver; sister, Nina Margaret Brice; brother, William Alfred Tarver; and son, Roy Wade Vance.
Thomas leaves behind his daughters, Cynthia Lynn Trujillo and Angela Joyce Meaders; stepdaughter, Christy Shelton; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family is grateful for the kind and compassionate care of the doctors and nurses at Willis Knighton South and the Caddo Fire District #4 fire department.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:29-31
