Shelton L Perkins

Shelton started his career as a young man at Guthrie Electric. He also worked at L.E. Meyers before becoming a journeyman lineman at SWEPCO for 44 years before retiring. He was a member of IBEW Local 329. Shelton was a dedicated employee and was known for his hard work. He had a lifelong love of horses and in his later years, gardening. He was a faithful member of Countryside Baptist Church where he did volunteer work and cooked for the sick. Shelton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and Christian. He was truly one of a kind. He will be greatly missed by all who adored and admired him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lynn Boddie Perkins, his parents, and sister, Glenda Sue Snead.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lana G. Rich and husband, Charles and Sharlotte A. Bynog; grandchildren, Chad Coffey, Cody Rich, and Cynthia Bynog; step grandson, Ronnie Bynog; sister, Reba Mondello; brother, Harvey Lynn Perkins and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Shelton will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM. Officiating the service will be Bro. Randy Johnson. Interment will take place in Centuries Memorial Park.
