Shreveport, LA Maxine Ripley Hunter, 92, was born April 12, 1922 in Clarksdale, Mississippi and was a life-long resident of Shreveport. She passed away peacefully on May 5, 2014 in Shreveport. She was a Christian and a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hunter was an amazing woman, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who always put family first.
Mrs. Hunter is preceded in death by her husband, George W. Hunter; parents, H. D. and Theo Lipsey Ripley; and sisters, Dale Boyd and Anne Walker. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, four daughters, Mildred Decker Darnell and husband Robert, Janet Caldwell and husband Wayne, Pamela Hunter and Louanne Hunter Burns; six grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, Craig MaGee, Christy Lawler, Roxanne Tyson, Brian Caldwell, Julie Smith Hooter, and their spouses; twelve great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 10, 2014, 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Murry Hodge. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 PM Friday, at the funeral home.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
