Linda married the love of her life, Donnie, in 1963 and they were married 43 years. Linda was was a bookkeeper for Riley Beards for years. She was also a breast cancer survivor. In Linda's younger days she was a professional fisherwoman. She was sponsored by Skeeter Boat Company and various others through her carrier. Linda also traded Beanie Babies, was a Cach Collector and was a jewelry meler. She had two puppies that she loved dearly, Cookie and Eva, who both passed in the last year.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Smith; and her parents.
Left to cherish Linda's memory is her daughter, Donna Lynn Smith (Dean Curtis) of Denmark and her daughter Molly; sister, Kath Cobbs Williams (Larry); brothers Charles Cobbs (Sherry) and Pete Cobbs (Zena); nieces and nephews Patti Cobbs Davis, Jeff Cobbs, Jason Cobbs, Daynae Parkins, Christa Rutherford, Patrick Cobbs, Mary Catherine Cobbs Jackson; great nieces and nephews Kevin, Kyle and Katy, Amanda Cobbs, Jada Cobbs, Parker Rutherford, Emily Rutherford, Elle Rutherford, Ethan Greene, and Emilia Greene; and Linda's bonus kids LeAnn White and Warren Walker. Although not related Linda thought of them as another daughter and son.
A visitation for Linda will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home & Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home & Park.
Honoring Linda as pallbearers will be Parker Rutherford, Trey McInnis, Terry Parker, Brian Smith, Larry Williams and Eric Smart.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations in Linda's honor be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
