Blanchard, LA Marlin Bonnette was born October 2, 1942 in Goldonna, LA . His parents were Freddie Lee Gunter and Johnnie Eugene Bonnette. He went to be with his Lord December 25, 2014 in Shreveport.
Mr. Bonnette graduated from Winnfield High School. He served 6 years in the National Guard. He was a butcher for more than 60 years. He also was a farmer and raised Black Angus, Brangus and Charolais cattle. He loved to work in his garden and share his vegetables with relatives and friends. He also loved to fish and hunt.
Mr. Bonnette is preceded in death by his wife, Jerri; his parents; and a brother, Johnnie E. Bonnette. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Bonnette Carter and her family, Sherrie Bonnette and her son, Kaden Hood, Rececca (Mandy) Bonnette and her two sons, Gage and River Bonnette; sisters, Carol Timon, her husband Glenn and their family and LaQuita Bonnette; a brother, Shelby W. Bonnette, his wife Barbara and their family; several other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services from Mr. Bonnette will be Tuesday, December 30, 2014, 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Elton Gunter. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 5 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jewell Bonnette, James Bonnette, Brynner Timon, Max Timon, Jason Timon, Micah Timon, Brad Timon and Chuck Davis.
