Lois spent her early years in Chicago, where she studied fashion design after graduating from high school. She met her future husband during a visit to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Lois and John Montelepre were married in 1952. They lived in New Orleans, where all three of her children were born. The family moved to Shreveport in 1965.
Lois loved fashion, art, gardening and travel. She was fun and funny, easy-going and quick to laugh. Lois was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her family was the most important thing to her. She and John, married 50 years, were members of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and St. Mark's Cathedral. She loved her home, family, friends and neighbors.
Lois was predeceased by her parents, John and Pearl Wolf; husband, John Montelepre, Sr.; sister, Elizabeth Jurczak and beloved uncle, Walter W. Walker.
She is survived by her son, John and wife, Liz Montelepre; daughters, Bette Powell and Judie Montelepre; grandchildren, Morgan MacIntire and husband, Angus, John Montelepre III and wife, Jessica, and Christina Powell; great grandchildren, Eleri, Eamon and Eoin MacIntire along with a niece and three nephews.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
