John Lewis Hicks Sr.

John Lewis Hicks, Sr., of Mooringsport, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 67. John was born April 5, 1953 in Haynesville, Louisiana to J.W. Hicks and Mattie Etta Lewis Hicks. He enjoyed being outdoors, mainly hunting and fishing. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and most of all, baby girl, the dog. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sherry Hicks; daughter Diane Boise; granddaughters Haven, Paige, Ashley, and Sydnie, great granddaughter Lainabill, and his sister Joanna Williams and husband Gary. He was preceded in death by his son, John L. Hicks, Jr. daughter, Casie Thigpin; parents; and brothers, William Hicks and Rodney Hicks.

A visitation for John will be held Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A funeral service will occur Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 1:00 PM with an interment to follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating the services will be Pastor Ronald Dunn. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Fletcher, Henry Bownan, Lee Hicks, Randy Barmore, Gary Williams , Shean Fletcher and a Honorary Pallbearer Ronnie Dison.
