Grand Cane, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Joe Carroll Bolton, 82, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Curtis Clemens, D.Min. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Joe was born on February 27, 1934 in Rainelle, West Virginia and passed away on September 7, 2016 in Bossier City, LA. Mr. Bolton was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served his country proudly in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After his military service he became a police officer for the Shreveport Police Department where he faithfully protected and served our community until his retirement in 1988 as a Detective. After retirement, Mr. Bolton served in various capacities such as a probation officer for the Desoto Parish Sheriff’s Department from 1988-1990, State Trustee for the F.O.P. for 8 years and as the Secretary to the L.P.O.A. for 3 years. Joe was very talented, creative and had many hobbies he enjoyed including being a carpenter, a rancher and a farmer. He possessed amazing craftsmanship and built his own home by hand.
Mr. Bolton was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Joe is his wife of 55 years, Shirley Bolton; daughter, Janet Clemens and husband Curtis; two sons, Cary Bolton and wife Regina and David Bolton; 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Honoring Mr. Bolton as pallbearers will be: Robert Rowe, Ian Clemens, Ted Eddings, Bubba English, Cary Bolton and David Bolton. Honorary pallbearer will be Willie Joe Greene.
