DEBERRY, TX - Jimmy Dewayne Johnson (Big Nasty) age 55, passed away on May 3, 2017, in Bossier City Louisiana. Jimmy was born on January 25, 1962, to James William and Sandra Shields Johnson. Jimmy grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana but resided the last 20 years in Deberry, Texas. Jimmy worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and also as a taxidermist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the bass guitar with his sister Karen singing, and being surrounded by his family. His smile and silly sense of humor will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Sandra Johnson and step-father Don; his sister, Karen Foster, whose love, devotion and care allowed our family many years with Jimmy after he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Other sisters are Kristin Walker and Shelia Reese. Jimmy is also survived by his five children, Leisha Watson, Christina Palmer, Brandon Johnson, Craig Johnson and Mark Johnson; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, James William Johnson, Jr.
A memorial celebration of his life will be held on Monday, May 8th, 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Centuries Memorial on Mansfield Road. Jimmy’s wishes will be honored in that he will be cremated.
