Jerry C. Allen

Services to honor the life of Mr. Jerry C. Allen, 81, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Greenwood with Dr. Kenny Joyner officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. The family will receive guests on Sunday afternoon, December 17, 2017, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Jerry was born on October 27, 1936, in Hope, AR and passed away peacefully, at his home in Keithville, surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood, where he also served as a Deacon, and was a Past Worshipful Master at Greenwood Lodge No. 409 F&AM.

Jerry was the Production Manager of Fabsteel, Waskom, Texas, and later co-owner of S&W Steel Fabricators, Shreveport, Louisiana.

He loved and served the Lord, his family and friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee Allen and Murl Ross Allen; brother, David Lee Allen; and sister, Polly Allen Boling. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Joyce McGee Allen; children, Denise McDonnell and husband, Owen; Vicki Gallagher and husband, Michael; Sherry Tabor and husband Nathan; grandchildren, Kevin Gallagher and wife, Tracy; Jacob Johnson and wife, Sarah; Justin McDonnell and wife, Erin; Jared Johnson and wife, Kortlind; Cody Tabor and wife, Francie; Daniel McDonnell and wife, Michelle; Katelyn Tabor Richardson and husband, Garrett; Jedidiah Johnson, and Sean Gallagher; great grandchildren, Kaleigh McDonnell, Levi Johnson, Palmer Richardson, Deacon Tabor, and Luke Johnson; sister, Wanda Allen Harrell.

Honoring Jerry as pallbearers are grandsons, Kevin Gallagher, Jacob Johnson, Justin McDonnell, Jared Johnson, Cody Tabor, Daniel McDonnell, Jedidiah Johnson, and Sean Gallagher. Honorary pallbearers are Prentis McGee, Jerome McGee, Troy McGee, Jimmy Meyer, T. P. Noble, Donald Brown, and Jerry’s Sunday School class.
