Ike retired from the U.S Air Force after 20 plus years of service as a Master Sergeant. He later retired from AT&T after an additional 20 years. During retirement he served his girls endlessly for another 20 plus years. He served in Vietnam earning the Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Small Arms Expert Marksman Ribbon. Ike was known for being able to fix anything. His favorite fishing hole was Jan's River Restaurant. He was highly involved with his grandkids. He went to every school event and extra curricular activity. He loved dropping off and picking up the kids and attended soccer games, dance recitals and graduations. He lived a remarkable life filled with love, faith, and service. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him best and loved him most.
He was preceded in death by his parents; aunt, Francena Wahpepah and uncle, Lawrence Wahpepah.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Judy Mohawk; son, Michael J. Mohawk and Wife Janice Mohawk; granddaughters, Christiana Baker and Husband Brandon Baker, Cheyenne Mohawk, and Erika Farris and Husband Ryan Farris; great grandchildren, Milani Baker, Damien "Big Joe" Baker, Cameron Baker, and Andrew Baker; sister, Geraldine Kaskuske; brother-in-law, Lonnie Parker; sister-in-law, Vicky Stringer.
A visitation for Ike will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Damon Magee officiating. Interment will take place at Centuries Memorial Park. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Doug Nicholas, Brandon Baker, Jeff Parker, Mike Parker, Ryan Farris, and Kip Carson.
