Dr. Glen Stuart Bollman Ph.d

Funeral services for Dr. Glen Stuart Bollman will be held in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Dr. Larry Williams of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Plain Dealing Cemetery in Plain Dealing, LA. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Centuries Funeral Home.

Dr. Bollman was born in Plain Dealing, LA on September 19, 1931. He was a graduate of Plain Dealing High School, LA Tech University and Texas A&M University. Dr. Bollman received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education and a Master’s in English, all from LA Tech. Dr. Bollman received his Ph.d in English from Texas A&M. He taught at Greenacres Middle School in Bossier City, LA, LA Tech University and LSU-S. He began teching at LSU-S in 1969. Dr. Bollman retired from LSU-S in 1988. At LSU-S he was an Associate Professor of English and a member of the Graduate Faculty. He was a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.

Dr. Bollman passed away after a long struggle with interstitial fibrosis.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Dr. Bollman are his wife, Lucille Johnston Bollman, two sons; Richard W. Christian and wife Barbara of Rocky Mount, LA and W. Derek Bollman of Euless, Texas, two granddaughters; Emily Christian Smith and husband Tracy Smith of Shreveport, LA and Sunni Allison of Shreveport, LA, one grandson; Clayton(Clay) Christian and wife Veronica of Rocky Mount, LA and one great-granddaughter; Katie Smith. Dr. Bollman is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

Honoring Dr. Bollman as pallbearers will be: Hank Kelly, Keldron Johnston, Nick Alvarado, Wayne Smith, Tom Hannigan and Mark Patty.
