Dorothy "Dottie" McIntosh

A visitation for Dottie will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating the service will be Pastor Perry Culver of Christ Lutheran Church in Shreveport. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Jeff McIntosh, Mike McIntosh, Matt McIntosh, Andy Culver, Ben Culver, Matt Holland and Colton Steadman.

Dorothy "Dottie" Louise McIntosh was born December 8, 1926 in Santa Monica, CA to the late Ralph Blakeslee and Mary Flynn Blakeslee. At a young age, her family moved to Indianapolis, IN, where she spent most of her childhood and later graduated from Broad Ripple High School. In 1946 she married the love of her life, Louis Bernard McIntosh and started growing their family. The family moved to Shreveport, LA in 1970, for Lou's job with Western Electric. Dottie started working as a bank teller for Shreveport Bank and Trust/ Hibernia Bank. She later retired after many years of service to the company.

She was a founding member of Christ Lutheran Church in Shreveport. She had many different interests throughout her life. She enjoyed taking flying lessons, painting ceramics, coloring, and playing bridge, pinochle, and hand & foot. In recent years, she really had fun competing against her family at Mexican Train.

After 60 years of marriage, her husband passed in 2007. She moved to The Glen of Shreveport in 2017, where she made many friends. At the age of 96, she was called home to her Lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, where she was reunited with Lou. Dottie will be truly missed by those who loved and cared for her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lou McIntosh, Marcia Black (Mike), Lori O'Connor (Michael) and Glenn McIntosh (Christine); grandchildren, Jeff McIntosh (Cyndy) Jill Maguire (Mike), Vicki Brown (Corey), Mike McIntosh (fiancé Miki) and Matt McIntosh; great grandchildren, Reece Maguire, Corbyn Maguire and Ella Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her sister, Marion Blakeslee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Dottie may be made to the general fund of Christ Lutheran Church, 290 Idema St, Shreveport, LA 71106.
