Dorothy Jane DeSoto, age 85, of Leesburg, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 after a lengthy illness. Dorothy was born July 3, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Fred and Amy DeSoto.
Dorothy worked for AT&T (formerly Western Electric) for many years. She was a native of Shreveport where she spent most of her life. She loved to travel and was active in her bowling league. Dorothy was a big fan of all sports and especially loved her pets. She was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, and a great friend to those who knew her. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
Dorothy was preceded in death by parents, Fred A. DeSoto and Amy Mae Watts DeSoto; brothers, Fred Junior DeSoto, James Louis Pierce, Bobby Joe DeSoto, and John Earl DeSoto; daughter, Donna Renee Lewing.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Gloria Eubanks and Cynthia Dianne Mayo; brothers, Donald Ray DeSoto and Ricky Dean DeSoto; granddaughter, Jessica Lewing.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held Monday, October 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108 with Rev. Mike Hawkins officiating. Interment will take place in Centuries Memorial Park.
