Doris was a homemaker, seamstress and quilter. She was an avid organic gardner. Over the years she developed a love for tending her vegetable garden. She also enjoyed cooking and was known for her wonderful meals. Doris was a member of Pinecroft Baptist Church for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Henry Hooker.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Debra Barnette and Cindi Booth; one son, Mike Hooker; grandsons, Adam King (Ashley) and Tyler Garza; great grandsons, Daniel and Link King; sister, Sandra Barnette (Joe).
A visitation for Doris will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Cecil Marr officiating. Interment will be in Centuries Memorial Park.
