Daniel Allen Davis, age 60, of Logansport, Louisiana, passed away on December 4, 2024, at home surrounded by family. Daniel was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on February 7, 1964, to Bobby and Simone Davis.
Daniel was known for his zest for life, his warm and caring nature, and his unwavering sense of curiosity. Daniel was a lifelong learner, earning degrees that reflect his commitment to education. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, a Bachelor of Science from LSU-Shreveport, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas. Daniel had a love for football, golf, history, music, travel, and was an avid fan of collecting and seasonal decorating. He also was a dapper dresser. He also enjoyed playing with their pet cats Joy and Rose, who are deceased, and Breezy. His fascination with the weather led to flying over the volcano Kilauea while erupting in a helicopter. He was also dedicated to his faith as a lifelong Catholic, regularly attending church services and classes as well as leading classes.
Daniel married Debra Sue Smith in November of 1994. They just recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.
Daniel’s enthusiasm for life was contagious, and he never lost the youthful spirit that defined him, making everyone around him feel welcome and valued. His relatives and neighborhood family affectionately called him "DanDan". Above all, Daniel will be remembered for his sense of humor and his fun-loving approach to life. He was a devoted son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. His kindness and joy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Debra Sue Smith Davis, his siblings Michael Davis, Steven Robert Davis (Donna), and Michele Davis Shinault (Eddie); his father-in-law Dwane O. Smith; sisters-in-law Donna Smith and Patricia Smith Wray (Chris); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Daniel’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him, and his legacy of joy, kindness, and curiosity will continue to inspire us all.
Daniel faced many challenges in his life, particularly during the decade-long battle with his illness. Diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, Daniel met each day with a courageous and humble heart.
Despite the difficulties, he maintained his positive outlook and found strength in his prayers- “Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, "My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, thy will be done.” Matthew 26:42.
