Connie Daphan Cook Wise passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015. The family will be receiving friends for visitation Sunday, August 30, 2015 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, August 3l, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Centuries Memorial. Bro. Ray Boswell of First Baptist Church in Shreveport officiating. Interment will follow the service at Fellowship Cemetery, Dubblerly, Louisiana.
Connie was born to Samuel A Cook and Mary Frances (Fannie) Baldwin Cook on November 3, 1919 as the baby of the family. Connie was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, Wilace W. Wise of 74 plus years, her nephew Clayton Mayes and his wife, Judy and niece, Yvotte Nichols and husband, Donnie, two sister in laws, Winfred Conway of CA and Anne Wise of NC. She is also survived by number of other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Although she had no children, they all loved her dearly.
After graduating from Dubberly High School, May 1936, Connie went to work for the phone company in Minden, Louisiana where she met and married Wilace.
The family would like to thank the staff of Montclair Park Memory Unit, the staff of Heritage Manor Stratmore and a very special nurse Dusty Cella. Also to our sitter, Lee Graves, and a special thanks to her nieces Judy Wise Mayes and Billie Wise Rowell who gave their loving care for their aunt.
