Graveside services celebrating the life of Charles Edward Kemper, Sr., 87, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 in Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, LA. Officiating the services will be Chaplain Dana Casey of Hospice of Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Charles was born on May 14, 1924 in Wytheville, VA and passed away peacefully at his home on May 22, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. Mr. Kemper was a Bus Operator and was employed by Sportran. He retired after 40 years of faithful service. He was also a long time employee of the Willis-Knighton Health System. Mr. Kemper was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed traveling and shopping for antiques with his wife.
Preceding Mr. Kemper in death was his beloved wife of 58 years, Ethen “Johnnie” Kemper, his parents and several siblings.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Mr. Kemper are his son, Charles E. Kemper, Jr. of Shreveport, LA; one sister, Margaret Morris of Max Meadows, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Willis-Knighton Hospice of Louisiana, 616 Flournoy-Lucas Road, Shreveport, LA-71115.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Willis-Knighton Hospice of Louisiana for all the care shown to Mr. Kemper.
