Bobbie Elaine Zern Morris entered into eternal life on Monday, April 23, 2018. Bobbie was born on September 11, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be at Centuries Funeral Home in Shreveport on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a Rosary. A Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 12 p.m. A burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Cemetery.
Bobbie graduated from St. Vincent's Academy. She worked for Commercial National Bank and Howard Johnson's Hotel in Shreveport before moving to Texas, where she worked various jobs in Hirsch and Pittsburgh, Texas. She moved back to Shreveport and was an avid bowler in her early life. She later came to adore LSU baseball and football. Her yard and gardens were pristine and she generously shared her gardening tips with anyone who inquired.
Bobbie is survived by her brother, Albert Harold Zern, Jr. and his wife Pam; her sister, Charolette Zern Mainiero; her aunt, Florence Finnelle; her brothers-in-law, Ronald Morris, Sr. and Whitcomb Morris; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Cancilleri; her three step-children and numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her as a king, loving and doting aunt.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Doug Morris; her sister, Maxine Zern Morris; her parents, Lula Mae and Albert Zern; and her brother-in-law, Robert Mainiero.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Morris, Jr., Victor Mainiero, Dominic Mainiero, John Mainiero, Gregory Cancilleri, and Harold Zern, III.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Bobbie's doctors at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center, the staff of Aime Hospice, Bobbie's personal sitters and close friends for their loving care and attention; and to the priests and parishioners of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church for their love, concern and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church in Shreveport, Louisiana.
