Robert Dennis Adkins

Mr. Robert Dennis Adkins, 66, of Shenandoah, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Veterans Medical Center in Washington, D. C. He was born on May 18, 1945 in Maryland and had lived in the Shenandoah and Page County areas for the last 14 years. Mr. Adkins, a disabled veteran, was a mechanic with the U. S. Military and had served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Elkton Church of God. On February 2, 1997 he married Linda Yager Sampson Adkins who surivives. Also surviving is a daughter, Virginia Puffenbarger, of Stuarts Draft; a step-daughter, Barbara Lynn Yager, of Shenandoah; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the Elkton Church of God, with the Rev. Samuel Sponaugle and Rev. Walter Lundblad officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Community Cemetery in Shenandoah. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Lindsey-Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah.
