Roland Arnold Wilson

When Roland was young he worked in the oil fields and then went to work for the City of Shawnee for 33 years.

One of Roland’s achievements was being a sharpshooter in the US Army. He served from 1964 to December, 31 1969, in Germany when he was honorably discharged.

Roland married Judy E. Rose on September 1, 1973, in Ada, OK. When she passed in 2003, he married Carolyn E. McSperritt on April 11, 2005.

Roland loved building bird houses, taking care of animals in the neighborhood and especially gardening. He was also an avid OU and Thunder fan.

In high school he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball.

Roland was proud to serve God and attended Living Love Christian Center. He was very proud of and loved his family very much and talked about his brothers and sister often.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Jewel Wilson; spouses Judy Rose and Carolyn McSperritt; brothers Arville (Dutch) Wilson, Dean Wilson, and Johnny Wilson.

He is survived by his sister Dolores Bell and husband Mike of Grove, OK; stepchildren Danny McSperritt and wife Lisa, David McSperritt, and Doug McSperritt; several nieces and nephews; and stepgrandchildren.

Roland requested no funeral he wanted to be remembered as he was.
