Peggye Ann Blackwell

Shawnee resident, Peggye Ann Blackwell, 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. She was born November 22, 1933 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to JB and Hazel (Williams) Dover. Peggye married Billy James Blackwell, Sr. on July 15, 1951. Together they made their home and raised their 6 children. Peggye loved to sing and had many competition certificates. She was a member of Sweet Adelines International Chorus and the Sooner Sensations Chapter. She enjoyed singing songs and nursery rhymes with all of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing Yahtzee (Hootsie!), Chicken Feet with double 9 dominos, Pig Mania, and Aggravation on a homemade wooden board. Peggye was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Those left to cherish their memories are her children, Bill and Elizabeth Blackwell, Scott and Pam Blackwell, Barry and JoAnn Blackwell, Steve Blackwell, Shelley and Greg Gilbert, and Shawna and Monte Moore; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Pat Muzny and Cathy Shipman.

Visitation will be 3p-5p on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Services will be 10am Monday, April 18, 2016 at Northridge Church of Christ with Brother Wayne Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
