He was born in Beggs, Oklahoma on February 17, 1933 to Joseph Benjamin and Maudie Mary (Haigwood) Cook.
Norman married Patsy McIntyre on December 5, 1952. They moved to Shawnee in 1953 where they made their home and raised their children. Norman was a family man and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and watching old western shows. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a Quality Control Specialist for A7 jets and retired after 37 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Mary Jo Ridout and David Cook
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patsy Cook of the home; son: Benjy Cook and wife Lamarla of Yukon; daughter: Rhonda Mahan of Tulsa; grandchildren: Lauren and Daniel Wedman of Oklahoma City, Leah and Josh Rose of Broken Arrow, Dakota and Annmarie Mahan of Denver, CO., and Darcey and Eric Humphreys of Atlanta, GA.; great-grandchildren: Denver and Luke Wedman, and Jayden Rose; siblings, Gene and Louise Cook of Woodward, Juanita Simms of Del City, Cathy and Jim Pettyjohn of Shawnee, and Lynda Bradford of Shawnee; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Toby.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donnie Knight officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Freedom Assembly of God.
