Marilyn Joan Waldrop 83, a resident of Shawnee passed away October 27, 2018. Marilyn was born May 16, 1935 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma to John and Ida Shawver. Marilyn was a kind and loving person. She worked for several years with Heartland Hospice. When she wasn't working she enjoyed needlepoint with her sewing club and doing genealogy. Although she hated doing yard work , but she loved her flowers and she always kept the cleanest house! She was proud to me a military wife and above all else she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in passing by her husband, Chumley W. Waldrop; her parents, John and Ida Shawver; her brothers, Bob and Duane Shawver. She is survived by her sons, Mark Waldrop and his wife, Brigitte, John W. Waldrop and his wife, Gail; Matt Waldrop and his wife, Betsy; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Jack and Joan Waldrop and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 5-7 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home
Funeral Service will be 10 am, Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Shawnee.
