Jane (Walker) Epperson passed from this life and into the loving arms of Jesus on September 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Geary, Oklahoma on March 15th, 1946 to Lee and Jewell (Cotton) Walker.
She attended Horace Mann Grade School and graduated from Shawnee High School in May of 1964. She married Paul Epperson on October 9, 1964. Paul and Jane lived most of their married life in Shawnee, having lived in Oklahoma City for a few years, before moving back to Shawnee. She retired from Exxon Mobil in April of 2005 after 18 years of service. In June of 2005 she began volunteering at the Shawnee Hospital and volunteered for over 19 years. Jane and Paul enjoyed going to car shows and showing their 1963 split window Corvette that Paul restored, winning many times.
She dearly loved her two grandsons and her three great-grandchildren, and spoiled them whenever she could. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Jewell Walker; her husband, Paul; and her sister, Marilyn Richards. She is survived by her son, Brian and his wife, C.C. Epperson; twin brother, Dwane Walker; grandchildren: Michael Ware and his wife, Allyson, Tanner Epperson, Brooke Bradshaw, Marshall Bradshaw, Carson Bradshaw, great-grandchildren: Madelyn, Lyra and Preston Ware, Watson Christensen, Stella Bradshaw; nephew, Vic Smith and his wife, Ellen, along with many cousins; special friends; and lifetime friends, Sonya Jackson and Tonya Powell. She was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She accepted her Lord and Savior in 1958.
A visitation for Jane will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sharon Baptist Church, 19002 S Gordon Cooper Dr, Shawnee, OK 74801. A committal service will occur Friday, October 4, 2024 at 3:30 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801.
