Jack Pearson was born March 21, 1937, and passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019, in Shawnee, OK. He was born in Joplin, Missouri, to Denzil and Blanche Pearson. He married Beverly Swift on January 25, 1957, in Joplin. They enjoyed 51 years together in marriage. They began their married life in Shawnee while attending Oklahoma Baptist University. They lived in Dallas, Texas, and Nashville, Tennessee where he completed his Master of Music degree from Peabody College. They returned to Shawnee in 1967. Jack was a professor of music at Oklahoma Baptist University from 1967 until 2005 and directed the Bisonette Glee Club for 33 years. He also served as minister of music at University Baptist Church and Immanuel Baptist Church, where he most recently was the orchestra director and enjoyed playing the trumpet.
He was preceded in death by his wife, sister, Wanda Jackson, and great-grandson, Johnny David Cullison. He is survived by his daughters, Lesli Underwood (Bill), Lauri Pearson, and Lisa Cullison (John); grandchildren, Emily Scott (Raymond), Jessica Underwood (fiancé, Gerard Bifulco), John Alan Cullison (Jennifer), and William Underwood; great-grandchildren, Adam, Tristan, Wyatt and Ryder Scott, and Jaycee and Jordyn Cullison; a brother, Bill Pearson; Sister-in-law Diane Parish (Aubrey); brother-in-laws Randy Swift (Nancy), Mike Swift (Arlinda), and special friend Juanita Fluke.
