Everett graduated from Tecumseh High School. During school he was a well-known football player and ran track for which he won many awards. After high school, Everett joined the Army and served in Korea during the Korean War. After the Army, Everett went to Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University) and received a degree in engineering. Everett’s first job was with OG&E reading meters. He then worked at Tinker Air Force Base. He retired with the Federal Aviation Administration as a flight inspector technician. After retirement, he decided to get his real estate license but went back to reading meters for Canadian Valley Electric.
Anyone that met Everett knew how caring and thoughtful he was and how important family was to him. Everett was always a provider and would be there at the drop of a hat to help anyone. Everett was extremely proud of his sons. He loved to work on cars, especially his Chevrolets. He was also a big OU football fan. Everett was part of Gideon’s, VFW, and the DAV.
Everett married Norma Mae (Marsh) Hunt in November of 1955 in Denton, Texas. They were together until Norma’s passing in June of 2008. Everett married again four years later to Euleta (Feigel) Hunt in January of 2012 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. They were together until Euleta’s passing in January of 2021.
Everett is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Norma Hunt; wife of 9 years, Euleta Hunt; mother Ethel Viola McKenzie; father William Davis Hunt; brothers Humbert and Earl Hunt; sisters Eva Pearl Ray, Lavella Mae Zimmerman, Inez Thompson, and Irene Haley.
Everett is survived by his son Buddy Davis Hunt and wife Michell of Tahlequah; son Charles Alan Hunt of Shawnee; son Randy Byers and wife Linda of Fort Smith, Arkansas; grandchildren Hilary Kirk and husband Kevin, Ashley Hunt, Emily Whitley and husband Trey, Caitlyn Barfield and husband Trent, Zachary Hunt, Brad Byers and wife Bonnie, Billy Byers and wife Hollie; great grandchildren Blakely Hunt, Caroline Gibbs, Aubrey Gibbs, Ansley Whitley, Kyndall Kirk, Hunter Kirk, and two on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and many friends.
