After High School, David joined the Army. While active duty, he received the Army of Good Conduct Medal and a Marksmanship Badge. After being discharged, David began working at Tinker Air Force Base and retired as the Branch Chief of Transportation.
David married Ruby Jackson on June 25, 1970 in Ada, OK. Together, they blended their families and raised each other’s daughters like their own. David was extremely proud to be a father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
In David’s free time, he loved to hunt, fish, and anything that involved horses.
David is preceded in death by his wife Ruby Jackson, parents Archie Jackson and Jewell Edmoundson Jackson, and son in law Gary Fry. He is survived by his daughter Kathy Campbell and husband Jim of Haworth, OK; daughter Kay Fry of Shawnee, OK; sister Glynndora Rust of Prague, OK; sister Reba Beets of Pryor, OK; sister Vivian Ray of Bethel Acres, OK; grandchildren Taryn and Marty Shirey, Tonya and Dale Landreth, Jarred and Allison Campbell, and Kasey and Bradley Bullock; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A Public Viewing will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 from 8:00 AM to 1:50 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee, OK. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee, OK.
