Merle Gray Hardee

Merle Gray Hawes Hardee, age 75, of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina passed away from this life into eternity on Saturday, December 24, 2022, after a brief but valiant battle with aggressive cancer. She left to meet Jesus with her family by her side.

She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, and cherished friend to so many but most importantly she was a prayer warrior and a child of God. Her earthly struggles with pain are finally over and now she stands before her Savior in perfect peace with a heavenly body.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Gene Hardee; son, Bradly Hardee (Sandy) of Bolton; daughter, Heather Bath (Sandy) of Shallotte; four grandchildren, Tyler Hardee, Allison Hardee, Stephen Hardee, and Victoria Bath; two sisters, Rachel Jackson and Rebecca Hawes; a very special niece, Valise Jackson of Tennessee; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Others left to cherish her sweet memories are dear friends from the Shallotte High School graduating class of 1965, Kathy Collins, Sharon Hewett, Mary Houston, Sue Spelman, and countless others.

Funeral Services will be Thursday December 29, 2022 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Shallotte, 4486 Main Street, Shallotte with Pastor Robert Weathers officiating. Burial will follow in the Galloway Memorial West Cemetery, on Big Macedonia Road in Supply.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Boys and Girls Home of Lake Waccamaw or SECU Hospice of Brunswick.
