She was Born in Duplin County on July 5, 1946 the daughter of the late William Paul Garvey and Laura Mae Padgett Garvey. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Cavenaugh and Carolyn Santiago, and brother, Willie Garvey.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Richard Gray, her son, Daren Wheeless, and wife, Melanie, of Ammon, and her granddaughters, Hannah and Taylor Wheeless, of Ammon. She is also survived by her sister, Pearl Cavenaugh of Wilmington and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy worked at Cape Fear Memorial Hospital in Wilmington over 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shallotte and loved helping others.
Visitation will be Wednesday September 21, 2022 at 10:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Shallotte. The Rev. Bob Weathers will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center of Bolivia.
