Brenda Faye Hollyfield

Mrs. Hollyfield was born in Roanoke, Virginia on October 10, 1949, daughter of the late Ruel Mauyer Wood and Geneva Carter Wood. She was a retired choral instructor from Starmount High School in Boonville, North Carolina. Mrs. Hollyfield was very proud of all of her former students and her fondest memories was taking the Show Choir to perform in New York. She was a member of Seaside United Methodist Church in Sunset Beach where she was a member of the Crosstalkers Sunday School Class. She also loved spending time at the beach.

Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bobby” Hollyfield of Carolina Shores; two children, Robert Kent Hollyfield, II of Ocean Isle Beach, and Sarah Ashley Hollyfield and husband Richard Davis of Asheville; two brothers, Don Wood and Randy Wood and wife Linda, all of Roanoke, Virginia; one sister, Alisa Wood-Walters and husband of Portland, Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews; best friends, Brenda Babb and the “Happy Hour Ladies” of Carolina Shores; very dear friends, Markie and Jim Smith of Ocean Isle Beach and Peggy Optiz of Little River.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 at seven o’clock in the evening at Seaside United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
