TAYLOR, Howard I., Sr.,91, of Largo, Florida, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 at Sabal Palms Health Care Center in Largo. He was born in Oneida, NY, the son of Roy G. and Margaret “Williams" Taylor. Howard was a 38 year employee of I.B.M. and an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of American Legion Post #273 and a volunteer and supporter of the Largo High School Band of Gold.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Laura E. Taylor, his brother, Roy G. Taylor, Jr., and his sister, Jane Zaia.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara E. Sabol, and her husband Bill, Susan A. Taylor, and Laura E. Rowland and her husband, Ken; a son, Howard I. Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Gwendolyn; a brother, Otto Taylor; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation held 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 noon Monday, September 12, 2011 at the funeral home.
Committal prayers with military honors provided by American Legion, Post 273 Honor Guard and a song tribute from The Largo Band of Gold held 10:45 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2011 at Bay Pines National Cemetery in Bay Pines, FL.
