Frances Charlene Stewart, 63 of Pinellas Park Florida, passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2019. Carlene as family and friends lovingly called her was born in Washington DC on July 18, 1956 to parents Loren D. Leger and Mary Jean Leger, both deceased.
Charlene retired from the State of Florida Division of Motor Vehicles with over 35 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed the love of her dogs, gardening, cooking, sewing, and traveling. One of her trips to Hawaii sparked a passion for Hawaiian culture and folklore which she expressed through tattoos and gardening. Charlene was a kind and cheerful soul who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years Stanley W. Stewart (2001). Survivors include, daughters, Beverly A. Ludwiczak and Hilary Gambino (Joe) both of Seminole; brother, Jim Leger (Debbie) of Utah ; grandchildren, Nathan Ludwiczak , Ethan Gambino and Emmaline Gambino. Brother and sister in laws, Jim and Virginia Stewart of Dothan, Alabama, Ron Stewart of Missouri, Paul and Sam Stewart of Seminole and a host of nieces and nephews. Charlene found a second chance at love and met her fiancé Jeff Carpinski of Clearwater.
Services will be held Saturday, December 14 at Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather at 4:00 with services starting at 5:00.
