Lewis Henry Armstrong born; October 5, 1915 died; July 28, 2014 at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, Seguin, TX.
He is “in the Tower”. Lew has been recently dubbed “Father of Special Forces”, having been inducted into the first ever Paratrooper division; The 101st Airborne Division, “Screaming Eagles”, of World War II. Lew jumped and fought in four major campaigns Including Holland, Normandy, Bastion, Belgium, and the Battle of the Bulge (start to finish). He received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Recently Lew’s best friend Dr. Mike Dwyer took Lewis as his guest to a 101st Airborne Division gathering held In San Antonio, TX where Lewis was presented with a lifetime honorary membership. More recently he was made an honorary Green Beret.
Lewis is a member of Grace Family Bible Church and is survived by his Best Friend/love and Caregiver, Velma Dorthy Butler, one son, James E. Wheeler of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Mickie Teagarden, of Seguin, TX; granddaughters: Allison Weatherall, Amanda Jordan (Drew), Amy Lacy (Patrick); Ashley
Alexander (Mike) and Grandson, James E. Wheeler II (Susan) of Colorado; Pamela Teagarden, Port Townsend, WA; and Linda Teagarden Hannasch (David), Stockdale, TX; Great Grandchildren, George (Emilie), Blake, Lucas, and Josh Weatherall; Dash and Manning Jordan; Lauren and Luke Lacy;

Davidson.
Friends are invited to Goetz Funeral Home for a time of visitation on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 5-8 pm. Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 10:00 am in the Goetz Memorial Chapel, Goetz Funeral Home 713 North Austin Street, Seguin Texas. Military honors and interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park2951 State Hwy 46 South, New Braunfels, Texas.
