Robert (Bob) was born in Seattle November 16, 1929, the younger of two children born to Archie and Mable Moore. Bob grew up in the Capital Hill area; he attended Broadway High School and worked in the family grocery business. He met Janet Willoughby while a student at Whitman College and they married in 1952. After graduating from Whitman, he enlisted in the Air Force and served through the end of the Korean War. Bob joined the Boeing Company where he held a number of management positions during his 38-year career.
In addition to being a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather; Bob was an active member of University Presbyterian Church (UPC), and served in several leadership roles including president of the UPC Board of Trustees and the International Friendship House Board – a UPC ministry to international students. Bob loved the outdoors, was an avid gardener, and supported Boy Scout Troop 167 as Committee Chair and as an adult leader on many 50-mile summer hikes.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Moore; his three sons Craig, Brian and Doug Moore; daughters in-law Nancy Moore and Julee Moore; and grandchildren Timothy (and wife Amber), Michael, Kristin and Hayley Moore. His parents Archie and Mable Moore, sister Rea Trzcinski, brother in-law Charles Trzcinski, and grandson Parker Moore preceded him in death.
A Memorial Service will be held at University Presbyterian Church, 4540 15th Avenue NE, Seattle, on Thursday, May 12th, at 1 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Parker Archie Moore Memorial Scholarship Fund at https://seattle.nationalchristian.com/503.
