Bob passed away July 19, 2012 in Seattle at the age of 93. He was born on May 25, 1919, in Sunnyside, Washington, the son of William and Lois Hay. He graduated from Roosevelt HS in Seattle in 1937. Bob attended the University of Washington prior to completing his apprenticeship as a machinist through the Navy Department at the Puget Sound Naval Yard in 1943. He continued working as a machinist and in manufacturing until his retirement. Bob was a member of the Scottish Clan-Hay society and the Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games Association. He married Marjorie Wahlquist on June 19, 1942 in Seattle, and together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage until she passed in 1996. Bob is survived by his five children, Robin, Peggy, Richard, Joy, and Phil, eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 4:00 PM at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 111 NE 80th Street, in Seattle. Arrangements by Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
